So thankful for what we have from the Gits. Sad we didnt get the chance to have so much more. With all the music that is basically forced on us out there a band like the Gits is hard to find. When you find them however you cant let them go.

Last weekend I watched The Gits film. I had never heard of Mia or the band but a friend put it on and I was caught in it, who wouldnt be? It\'s been five days and I cannot get her out of my head. I actually have a trip to Louisville this weekend for my birthday so when I found out she was buried there I thought this is some kind of sign. I must go see her. So I will meet Mia Saturday afternoon for the first time. I only wish I had known her years ago. I\'m deeply saddened and moved by and sorry for your loss.

VIVA ZAPATA! With much love from your fellow Louisville native! We all miss you!!!! I paid you a visit last time I was in town. Thanks Steve, for getting this site up and running! I can\'t wait to see more! The Gits, to me, are easily the best thing to come out of Seattle! ....or was that Ohio? lol

I\'ll keep this simple. Because of Mia\'s extraordinary talents as both a wordsmith and vocalist, combined with Andy\'s unparalleled songwriting and guitar skill and Matt and Steve\'s awesome musicanship, the Gits have enriched my life immeasurably, like few have ever have. Their music, and Mia, are now immortal. I can never thank you enough.

Mia, you were amazing and truly beautiful! Such an inspiring artist and human being! I wish I would have known you and The Gits way back when you were still making music together, you would have rocked my pre-teenage world like no one else could have. But you & the Gits still rock my world, after all! Much love and thank you - from the bottom of my heart. iViva Zapata! xoxxxox

I\'m not going to lie, I found out about this group through Nirvana, and I\'m so thankful for that. Mia is one of the most honest, powerful, and REAL singers I\'ve ever heard of. The music the Gits have made speaks to me in a way some bands fail to do. Like I said before, I\'m incredibly thankful for finding out about a band like this.

Dear Mother, dear Mother, the Church is cold But the Ale-house is healthy & pleasant & warm Besides I can tell where I am used well Such usage in Heaven will never do well. But if at the Church they would give us some Ale, And a pleasant fire, our souls to regale, We\'d sing and we\'d pray all the live-long day; Not once ever wish from the Church to stray. Then the Parson might preach & drink & sing And we\'d be as happy as birds in the spring\' And modest Dame Lurch, who is always at church Would not have bandy children nor fasting nor birch. And God like a father rejoicing to see His children as pleasant and happy as he, Would have no more quarrel with the Devil or Barr, But kiss him and give him both drink & apparel. - William Blake, \"The Little Vagabond\"
